Goran Visnjic the Convincing Villain from Timeless

People often say that a film or a series is only as good as
its villain. If that truly is the case, than undoubtedly NBC’s new time-traveling
adventure series Timeless is a real gem. Most people recognize Goran Visnjic as
the handsome doctor from ER, although he has appeared in a number of big screen
titles ever since. However, playing the bad guy or the villain is something
that he hasn’t done before, and to everyone’s surprise it seems that he is
equally good in that role as he is in every other.
Namely, the role of Garcia Flynn, the mysterious antagonist from Timeless is perfectly portrayed by the dashing Visnjic. This season
we saw a lot of science fiction series, offered by almost every television
network. But the one series that stood the most among them all was Timeless.
This phenomenal new show is created by Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke, and just two
days ago, NBC ordered a full season of the adventure drama, granting a complete
season of 16 episodes.
Same as the protagonists or the heroes, villains are also
key to the success of a film or TV series. If the actor playing the villain
isn’t convincing or interesting enough, the consequences will affect everyone. Fortunately
there are actors so well versed in being the bad-guy, it’s practically second
nature, and Visnjic proved himself as one of those. There is a good deal
of unanswered questions surrounding his character Garcia Flynn, a mysterious
man with mysterious motives.
What we know about him is that he used to be national
security agent, and that he is equally complex as he is interesting. The story
of Timeless is focused on him, and it all starts when he steal an existing
model of a time travel machine from a private lab. In order to stop Flynn
(Goran Visnjic) the government forms a secret team made of a history professor,
soldier, and a nerdy scientist, who are sent on a mission to stop the villain
from his plan of altering US history for his own, yet unknown reasons.
