More Roles Await Goran

The famous actor Goran Visnjic won the lead role in Antun Vrdoljak newest movie, about the life of Croatian lieutenant general Ante Gotovina. The script for the movie about the life of General Gotovina is near completion and the idea about the movie came after Visnjic and Vrdoljak followed the trial in The Hague.

Earlier this year, the actor visited The International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands, and was allowed to whiteness the hearing before the Appeals Chamber of the ICTY in the case of Gotovina and Markac, in order to learn more details about Gotovina and to better prepare himself for the role.

The film was born from an idea that both Vrdoljak and Visnjic shared, and the film began recording this fall. Because the beginning of the film describes Gotovina’s childhood and his journey of becoming an adult, and Goran Visnjic plays the character of adult Gotovina, his presence near the begging wasn’t obligatory. Goran is married to Antun’s daughter Eva Visnjic since 1999. The couple has three children and resides in their Mediterranean style villa on Hollywood Hills.

For the purposes of the film and for writing the script, Visnjic and his father in-law Vldoljak relied on the book of the renowned journalist and editor in chief Nenad Ivankovic. The serial or movie will show untold stories about Gotovina, following his life from early childhood days to the general’s days during the war in Croatia and after.

Besides his involvement in this movie, there are many rumors about Goran Visnjic becoming the new James Bond, once Daniel Craig retires from the role.

And this isn’t the first time that Goran Visnjic is discussed as one of the favorites for this role. In 2005 he was one of the four finalists for the prestigious role, which was eventually assigned to Daniel Craig. Goran then was asked to go to London, and do a few set test scenes.

This famous actor is also scheduled for shooting several films and TV series the following spring, when he will continue filming “Extant", the new CBS television series produced by Steven Spielberg, where Goran Visnjic and Oscar winner Halle Berry play the lead roles.
